The mole that dug under San Román of Hornija

San Román de Hornija is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to San Román de Antioquía. The current church is a 17th-century Baroque construction with a T-shaped plant, a single nave strengthened by buttresses, and two lateral chapels at the feet. The exterior walls are built with verdugadas and pillars of brick, using masonry and ashlar in the tower, lateral chapels, and base. A wooden balcony supported by canes runs across the entire nave. One of its most notable elements is the tower-portico, located at the feet, which serves as access to the church.

The tower is quadrangular and has four bodies, the lower two of ashlar and the upper ones of brick. On the sides of its lower body, arches of half point are opened through which access is gained to a quadrangular portico covered with a semi-spherical dome with pulpiton. The church has been classified as a cultural asset of interest, with the category of monument, on April 20, 1999.
