The Old San Pedro del Olmo Church: A Forgotten Gatekeeper

In the Spanish town of Toro, the Old Church of San Pedro del Olmo, dating back to 1260, once stood near a gate in the city wall. Originally named Sanctus Petrus de Porta Putei Antiqui, it was part of the city's defenses. The single-nave church had a head with a rectangular transept and a semi-circular apse. The interior features double orders of semi-circular arches, while the exterior is adorned with blind arches, brickwork in courses, and a stepped parapet. Today, only the ruins remain, remnants of a once important city structure.
