Minigun-style lookout with a stunning view

Tiny, historic, and boasting a breathtaking panorama. This quirky lookout tower is a must-see.

The PS Knoll Lookout Complex is a historic fire lookout tower and cabin, situated in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Built by the Aermotor Windmill Company in the mid-1930s, it stands at an altitude of 8,045 feet. The complex comprises three contributing buildings – a house, storage shed, and outhouse – and a unique lending structure: a distinctive lookout tower that's more about history and design than size. Today, it's a peaceful spot to take in the forest's splendor from a unique vantage point. Over time, its practical uses have evolved, but if you're curious about its past, a visit to this lookout is highly recommended.
