The geological plug that resembles Hising Island

Hising Island is a small bronze sculpture created by Berit Lindfeldt that now stands at Kvillebäcken (Brämaregatan/Herkulesgatan) on the island of Hisingen in Göteborg. The sculpture, which is placed by the Charles Felix Lindbergs donations fund in 1985, is shaped like a geological plug, resembling the contour of Hising Island on a map, with stylized details of rock formations in the east and west, and a flat center. The sculpture features fossils inscribed in its surface. The original base of the sculpture, made of concrete and decorated with engravings and embedded pebbles, remains at its original location, Wieselgrensplatsen.
