Commissioned in 1977, HMS Hugin was the pioneer of the Hugin-class patrol boats in the Swedish Navy. For 22 years, it served in the 5/48/18 division, playing pivotal roles like participating in invasion defense, combating enemy naval forces, guarding sea territories and preventing violations, as well as providing escort services. Upon decommissioning on June 30, 2001 when the 18th patrol boat division was closed, HMS Hugin was handed over to Göteborgs Maritima Centrum in operational condition, marking the beginning of a new era for this versatile vessel. As of now, its whereabouts remain unknown.
