Dar Bou Hachem is a palace situated in a dead end named "Bou Hachem" within the medina of Tunis. The palace was owned by a family that came to the city during the reign of the Hafsid dynasty and resided there during the 19th and early 20th century.
The access to the palace is defended by a solid closed door. A narrow passage leads to the interior, covered at its beginning by a series of five vaults. The doors of the makhzen lead to a covered walkway.
The palace features a raised patio surrounded by richly decorated apartments. These rooms are decorated with a combination of earthenware, stucco, and marble.
