Located in the Medina of Tunis near the El Hafsia district, Hayreddin Palace is a historic building constructed between 1860 and 1870. The palace was built under the orders of Hayreddin Pasha.
In 1881, during the French occupation, the palace was sold and became a justice court. A significant portion of the structure was destroyed and replaced by an Israelite school.
Today, the building is an official monument according to a decree from 19 October 1992. It currently serves as the Museum of Tunis.
