The enigmatic Palace of Benacazón: a past steeped in Toledo's turbulent history

The Palace of Benacazón, a prominent structure in Toledo, echoes the typical architecture of the city with its Mudéjar courtyard and Azulejos decoration. Its grand façade hints at the splendour within, but the palace conceals a mysterious past, deeply intertwined with Toledo's tumultuous history. Some claim that this palace was perhaps built during the time of Peter of Castile the Cruel, although its origins remain uncertain. Later, it found itself under the control of the Holy Office, also known as the Inquisition.
