The building shaped by a genius

In 1865, one of Spain’s greatest engineers completed his crowning achievement: the Palacete de Carlos Maria de Castro. It was a bold, beautiful manor, taking up a prime spot in the newly developing Almagro district of Madrid. At the heart of the building stood the visionary behind it: Carlos Maria de Castro himself. The man who had planned the city’s expansion now had his own piece of Madrid’s skyline. <br>The Palacete de Carlos Maria de Castro was a grand statement. Two storeys, an attic, and a semi-basement made it a formidable structure, highlighted by a facade facing the street and two turrets on the sides.
