The ancient relics of Sadūniškių piliakalnis

Hidden in a distant hillside, a relic of the past stands defiant. The Sadūniškių piliakalnis, a long-forgotten hillfort, is found on a separate hill, away from the main road, approximately 1.3 km from the Maišiagala-Liukonyse intersection. Shaped like an oval, it spans approximately 20x10 meters and is found 2 meters below the hill on the Western slope, where two terraces, around 6 meters high, are also found. The hillfort, built using stone, can still be found with two mounds on the terrace on the Western slope. Pottery was found within the hillfort and it was dated to the Early Iron Age. The protection territory of Sadūniškių piliakalnis, not the site itself, was protected by the State Protection Culture Heritage Commission in 2006, and the protection territory covers an area of 0.67 hectares. The site is listed as a cultural heritage site.
