Ågestaten, known as the Ågesta Stone, is a rune stone situated near Stora Mellansjö in Ågesta, Huddingi commune on Södertörn. Erected in the 1000s, it originally stood at the crossroads of Norrån Road and Ågestavägen. Today, only a larger fragment remains, 1.80 meters high.
Ågestaten is adorned with two animal figures, whose symbolism and identities continue to intrigue many, yet remain undetermined. A palm symbol, recognized as a Christian life tree symbol, resides between these two animals' heads and forms the basis for the emblem of Huddinge Hembygdsförening, created in 1970.
It is believed to be related to another rune stone, Sö 290, which is situated on the north-eastern side of Magelungen near Farsta farm. The individuals referenced in both stones are thought to belong to the same family, whose farm was speculated to be situated on the east bank of Magelungen.
