The ancient Celtic rune stone with mysterious symbols

Two ancient Celtic stone slabs, engraved with mysterious symbols, have been discovered near the ruins of a Castro culture hillfort in Spain. According to archaeologist Nadya H. Prociuk, this find provides a rare glimpse into the spiritual life of the Castro culture. The triskelion, often linked to various interpretations, was a prominent symbol on these slabs. The Castro people may have used these slabs for spiritual purposes.

Castro de Formigueiros is an Iron Age settlement located near Airexa in the parish of Formigueiros, in the municipality of Samos. According to archeological excavations conducted on Castro de Formigueiros from 2006 to 2008, two occupations were defined at the site, the first beginning in the 3rd-2nd centuries BC and ending in the first half of the 1st century. After being apparently abandoned, a new occupation was detected with constructions built on the remains of the houses and the wall, indicating a late Roman or post-Roman phase. Decorated slabs with circles, horses, and fish were found in a area of the settlement.
