Valdegrulla, a forgotten village in Spain's Soria province, was once home to 166 people as per the census of 1787. However, by the 1970s, it started to depopulate, although the reason is not clearly stated in the source material. By 1981, only 15 people remained. Initially built with adobe houses, harsh winters and the fragility of the houses played a part in the eventual abandonment of Valdegrulla in 1997 when the last family left. The village was then subjected to looting and dismantling due to forgetting and the rapid destruction that the climate would cause.
