The 9th-century manuscript hidden through time and found in a bookshop

The Saint-Mihiel Abbey library houses a collection of more than 8700 books including 86 incunabula, 74 manuscripts from the 9th to the 16th century. The library was constructed in 1775, and is part of the former abbey, which was dissolved during the French revolution. The library is unique for its 9th-century manuscript on the Holy Trinity by Pseudo-Athanasius that was stolen during World War I, but miraculously discovered in a Hamburg bookshop in 2007 and reintegrated into the collection.
