The Château de Champchevrier, located in Cléré-les-Pins, France, is shrouded in history. Originally a fortress built in the Middle Ages, around 1109, it was later inherited by the family of Maillé (Luynes) in the 13th century. The castle's stables currently house over 70 Anglo-French hounds, making it the oldest hunting kennel in France, established in 1804. The castle's communs, park, and canal running through it were classified as historic monuments in 1975.
