Sant Cristòfol dels Horts

Sant Cristòfol dels Horts Church is located in the village of Els Horts. The parish of Sant Cristòfol dels Horts is documented as far back as 990. At present, the church with its single nave, semicircular apse and southern entrance is very much in ruins, especially the western section of the nave which can be dated to the 11th century. The eastern section of the nave and the apse preserve the pointed vaults and arches corresponding to a 12th-century work. The church is included in the Inventario del Patrimonio Histórico Artístico Español. However, a violent encounter between a bandit and King James of Aragòn that is mentioned in some legends is known to have taken place at Sant Quirze de Colldejou, not in the nearby village of Els Horts.
