Rupit's Vast Ruins: A testament to medieval strategy

Castell de Fornils, a significant medieval structure, stands between the Guilleries and the Transversal Serralada, at the foot of the Far cliff. Situated on a hill overlooking the plains of Sant Martí Sacalm, Susqueda, and the cingles of Rupit, it once boasted strategic importance. Today, however, the castle lies in ruins, obscured under debris and vegetation. All that remains is the round tower of the homage, standing at 8 meters high, a naked testament to its once towering walls.
