The strategic fortress of Jaciment arqueològic de l'Esquerda, situated 30 to 40 meters above the river in Les Masies de Roda, Osona, Spain, has seen numerous incursions from the 8th century BC to the 14th century AD. Discoveries have included artifacts now housed at the Museu Arqueològic de l'Esquerda in Roda de Ter. The fortress's positioning, midway between the Plain of Vic and the Les Guilleries region, presents an intriguing strategic advantage. Archaeological investigations were initiated in the early 20th century, with systematic excavations starting in 1977 by an interdisciplinary team from the University of Barcelona. The latest findings include evidence of a medieval and Visigothic siege camp, as well as an older occupation level dating back to the Bronze Final (8th century AD).
