Paliūnų hillfort, a national cultural monument, is situated on a separate hill, approximately 1.8 kilometers from Paročkė–Paliūnai road. Standing around 1.5 meters high and covering an area of 15,000 m², the hillfort takes a quadrangular shape, with dimensions of 35x23 meters. It is believed to have been inhabited by farmers during the 1st millennium A.D. Excavations at the hillfort site have uncovered a settlement of around 0.2 hectares, where lip-shaped ceramics and slag were discovered. Paliūnų hillfort was first surveyed in 1954 and is now protected as a national cultural monument.
