The Palace of the Counts of Benavente, located in the Plaza de la Trinidad, Valladolid, Spain, is a significant edifice that stands as one of the most prominent palaces of the city. Constructed in 1515, it was not only a residence for the Spanish royal family, but also the location for the Cortes Generales and the real councils. It was host to two Spanish kings, Felipe II in 1559 and Felipe III in 1601. Anna Mauricia, future Queen of France, was born there in 1578, and Infanta María, daughter of Felipe III and Margarita of Austria, was born there in 1603.
Juan Francisco Alonso Pimentel housed the best private art collection that existed in Valladolid during that time. The palace suffered serious fires in 1667 and 1716, and in 1801, the Diputación de Valladolid bought it for use as a Hospicio. After undergoing a process of reconstruction and rehabilitation, the palace is now open to the public for a cultural experience in Valladolid.
