The hillfort known as Pakalniškiai hillfort, located in the Radviliškis District, is a fascinating archeological site that was discovered during excavations in 1996. Situated on the right bank of the Daugyvenė river, the hillfort dates back to the 1st millennium BC. With a triangular shape, it spans approximately 25 meters wide, 15 meters high, and 6-8 meters high. During the excavation, stone grinding tools, pottery, and animal bones were found, offering a glimpse into the past. The hillfort is mentioned in the Lithuanian Cultural and Heritage Atlas of 1991 and in a 1998 article by Zenonas Baubonis and Bronius Dakanis.
