Molí de Rigat

The Molí de Rigat is an architectural inheritance listed in the Inventary of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. Constructed in 1879, the Molí de Rigat was initially a watermill before being transformed into a paper mill. The building has a symmetrical facade with a central and adovellan doorway. There is an image of Saint Peter with the date 1879 in a niche at the side of the doorway. In 1879, the dukes of Medinaceli authorized the establishment of a paper mill. From 1967, a hydraulic collection of R. Gavarró and Castelltort was installed in the Molí de Rigat. The Molí de Rigat had the country’s largest monographic water library. After the acquisition of Aigua de Rigat by the Grup Agbar and the death of Ròmul Gavarró, the collection and library were relocated.
