Mesón de la Victoria in Málaga's Old Town

The Mesón de la Victoria, found within Málago’s Pasillo de Santa Isabel, offers a glimpse into the past. Constructed in 1632, this building was initially governed by the Franciscan friars of the Convent of la Victoria. Today, it accommodates the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs. Inside, the ground floor was previously used as stables and storage areas; the first floor served as bedrooms, and the uppermost floor housed a gallery with a street-facing facade. A replica of the Mesón de la Victoria is visible in José Denis Belgrano’s painting 'After the Bullfight', displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts. In 1964, it was designated as a Bien de Interés Cultural, preserved to represent Málaga’s history.
