In the heart of Cantabria, nestled within the picturesque town of Sobremazas, stands the Los Cuetos Manor House - 'the palace of the Cuetos'. This structure, resting on the slopes of Peña Cabarga, presents two inviting arches on its facade, leading to a porch and a hidden chapel of San Agustín, complete with a bell tower and a weather vane. The main part of this time-worn abode consists of two floors and a rooftop crowned with four slopes. The current construction can be traced back to the 18th century, yet its roots reach as far as the 16th century, when it was connected to Gonzalo de los Cuetos.
The first floor, echoing with the hum of service areas, was accessible through two stone archways. The upper level housed living quarters, including bedrooms, dining rooms, and other enigmatic spaces. A four-cornered tower clings possessively to the northeastern part of the main body. As you cross its threshold, you can't help but question - what other secrets lurk within its ancient walls?
