Loughor Castle: A Castle Overlooking the River Loughor Dating Back to the 12th

Loughor Castle, a medieval castle in Wales, was built by Henry de Beaumont around 1106. Overlooking the River Loughor, it controlled a strategic road and ford. The castle was attacked and burnt during the Welsh uprising of 1151 and again in 1251. Despite repairs by John de Braose in 1220, the castle was taken by Llywelyn the Great in 1215. By the 19th century, the castle had fallen into ruins and was overgrown with ivy.
