In the Plaza de los Capuchinos in Cordoba, Spain, a grandiose Crucifix, known as the Christ of the Lanterns or 'Cristo de los Faroles' in Spanish, glows. This sculpture, created by Juan Navarro León in 1794, has a unique history of illumination. Commissioned by the Capuchin friar Diego José de Cádiz, the sculpture has been an integral part of the city's skyline for over two centuries.
