The fearsome female murderer's first victim

A heart-pounding tale of a city gripped by fear, as the first of the dreaded female murderer's victims is brought to light.

On August 14, 1962, John Ingvar Lövgren murders 62-year-old Greta Löfgren in her apartment at Fleminggatan 83. Within a year, he has also killed two young girls on Söder and in Aspudden. Lövgren is charged with at least nine cases of assault on women and is also suspected of another murder, that of 26-year-old Agneta Nyholm in Fruängen. A few years later, Lövgren serves as inspiration for the female murderer in the crime novel The Man on the Balcony by authors Sjöwall and Wahlöö.
