Upon marrying, Per Anders Fogelström moves with his wife to a one-room apartment on the first floor of Polhemsgatan 11 in 1943. When the days are not enough, he writes in the well-appointed bathroom at night. While residing at Polhemsgatan, Fogelström writes, among other works, Sommaren med Monika, which later becomes a highly acclaimed film directed by Ingmar Bergman. It is also here that Fogelström begins to take a serious interest in Stockholm and its history.
