Ancient Quadrilateral Fort Discovered in a Field Near Kėdainiai

Kalnaberžės piliakalnis, located in the territory of Kėdainių rajono savivaldybės, is a quadrilateral fort dating back to the 1st to 2nd centuries. It was discovered by locals around the 20th century and is currently hidden in a field. It is approached from the south of Kalnaberžės, leading through a canal to the entrance, turning left 900 meters and bending 2 kilometers and 500 meters to turn left again and approach the northwest entrance, and it is 450 meters. There is a 1.5-meter high first wall, a 16-meter long porch, and a 0.3-meter tall doorway. Excavations conducted by L. Kšivickius in 1903 and the Istorijos institutas in 1968 revealed a 1.5-hectare settlement and Blink pool next to the fort.
