Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Manzano: Unique Mix of Romanesque and Gothic

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Manzano, also known as Our Lady of the Apple Tree, is a 13th-century Catholic church in Castrojeriz, Spain. Founded in 1214 by Queen Berengaria of Castile, this church has an uncertain origin as it was once linked to the monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla but secularized. In the late 15th and early 16th century, the church underwent renovation and expansion. The church features a Gothic main portal, a Renaissance portal on the south façade, and a tower with a Romanesque base that was renewed in the 18th century. The apse and choir loft were added during this restoration.
