Falun's Below-Ground Mining Museum: A Thousand Years of Copper – Beneath the

The Gruvmuseet, a part of the World Heritage Site Falu koppargruva, is situated on the grounds of the mining area outside Falun, Sweden. Carl Sahlin, a mining engineer, initiated the museum, which is located 14 meters beneath the street. Here, you can see the methods and knowledge used in the mining that took place over a thousand years, starting in the 1890s.
