George III and the River Thames

The statue of King George III, named 'George III and the River Thames', is a Grade I listed outdoor bronze sculptural group situated in the quadrangle of Somerset House, London, England. This statue was sculpted by John Bacon between 1778 and 1789. King George III is depicted in Roman attire, standing victoriously with Father Thames, the Roman god of the River Thames. Father Thames is represented reclining on a lower semi-circular plinth, with one hand resting on an urn with a cornucopia behind him.
