Nestled in the heart of Barcelona, the Parc de les Cascades de la Barceloneta showcases a striking creation - David i Goliat. This sculpture, created by artist Antoni Llena i Font, consists of a great white square mask supported in the air by three twisted metal pots. It stands as a symbol representing the contrast between the former Somorrostro neighborhood, which was in this area and was very degraded, and the new Vila Olímpica built for the 1992 Olympic Games.
The sculpture was knocked over by the strong winds of storm Gloria and later raised again after being restored in situ. These works were directed by the sculptor Pere Casanovas. The artwork has stood in the park since it was inaugurated in 1992.
