Clent Castle: A Local Gathering Spot with a View

Clent Castle, a castle-inspired folly built in the late 18th century by Thomas Liell, is situated opposite the Fountain Inn on Adams Hill in Clent, Worcestershire, England. It stands within the grounds of Clent Grove (the site of Sunfield Children's Home) and has been designated as a Grade II listed building by English Heritage. The building showcases unique architecture, featuring twin round towers linked by a lower central section. The tower openings have stone architraves, and the towers have pointed-arched windows to front and sides, quatrefoil windows at first-floor level, and windows shaped like Maltese crosses above. The linking section has a pointed archway on the ground floor and a pointed first-floor window. Clent Castle shares some similarities with Castle Bourne, Bell End, Belbroughton, and Hagley Castle, a folly in Hagley Park, can also be seen from the castle.
