Riddarholmsbron Trio and Bronyaxis: A Historical Artwork in Munkbron 7

Riddarholmsbron Trio and Bronyaxis are historical artworks located at Munkbron 7 in Gamla stan, Stockholm. Created by sculptor Bengt Inge Lundkvist between 1970 and 1975 and installed in 1981, the Riddarholmsbron Trio represents the four bridges over Riddarholmsbron, including those of Adolf Fredrik, Gustav III, Karl XV, and Gustaf VI Adolf, each adorned with their respective monograms. Bronyaxis, on the other hand, features reliefs showcasing the four bridges and their corresponding dates on the south side, while an inscription about the tunnel construction that connected Riddarholmen with Stadsholmen in 1956 can be found on the north side. The Riddarholmsbron Trio and Bronyaxis were funded by the Swedish National Bank.
