Björnsnäs: A grand manor in Östergötland

Björnsnäs is a manor situated near Bråviken's inner parts in Åby, Kvillinge socket in Östergötland. It dates back to the 17th century and was initially owned by the Crusebjörn family. It was reduced in 1683 and has since been owned by various families such as the Reenstierna, Staäl von Holstein, von Friesendorff, and Trozelli. The current herrgård was built in 1848 in the architectural style of senempire. In 1898, the building was modernized under the supervision of Isak Gustaf Clason. Björnsnäs covers 7 ½ mantals, with a total area of 743 hectares; of which 222 hectares are farmland; tax assessment value 384 800 kr.
