Uncovered History: The 12th-century Romanesque Ruins of Sant Miquel de Naens

The abandoned Church of Sant Miquel de Naens, once the heart of the village of Naens, Pallars Jussà, met an unfortunate end, demolished to construct wider roads for vehicles and farm machinery. Today, the main road passes through where the main Church nave once stood, with the remnants of the Church visible on the southern side of the street. This Romanesque Church, built in the 11th century, boasted a unique apse, covered with a barrel vault. The Western wall remains, with traces of the vault still visible.
