Vibyholm Castle: A Dutch Master's Design, Rebuilt by a Swedish Architect

Vibyholm Castle, on an island in Lake Båven, was designed by a Dutch master, Caspar van Panten, between 1622 and 1630. The castle was rebuilt in 1798 under the direction of another architect, Carl Christoffer Gjörwell. A century later, Lars Jacob von Röök took up the restoration work, resulting in a fusion of Dutch and Swedish architectural styles.
