Södermanlands runinskrifter 3

Södermanlands runinskrifter 3, with signum Sö 3, is a damaged runestone located at the entrance to Vänga in Björnlunda socken and Gnesta commune in Södermanland. The runestone is 1.07 meters wide. It is made of gneiss. The inscription on the runestone was translated as: 'Gevlög and Gylla let resa denna sten efter Styvjald, sin son, broder to Illuge.' The ornamentation on the runestone includes a rune-orm seen in bird's-eye perspective. The rune-orm's neck and tail are locked with an Irish knot in the base. Above the rune-orm is a ring cross, revealing that the family who commissioned the stone had converted to Christianity. The runestone's inscription is listed in the Alfabetisk lista över runinskrifter.
