Vapor Aymerich, Amat i Jover: From an 1892 Conception to a 1983 Transformation

The Vapor Aymerich, Amat i Jover, constructed between 1907 and 1908, is a historic textile factory located on the Rambla d'Ègara de Terrassa, declared a national cultural heritage.Initially rented from Josep Ros, the group decided to construct their own vapor due to their growing prosperity. The factory accommodated the entire process of transforming wool (carding, weaving, and finishing) in 1915. 400 people worked in the factory in 1915. After Pau Amat's departure, the factory took on the name Aymerich i Amat, but it was not the immovable property. The factory was affected by the floods of 1962. The factory closed in 1976, but it was rehabilitated as the seat of the Museu Nacional de Ciència i Tècnica de Catalunya in 1983.
