Upside-down church in the Catalan hills

The church La Nativitat de Durro, standing in the Catalan village of Durro, is an unlikely sight. The entrances of other churches sit ground-level, but here it is 292 steps up. This is not because the church was primarily built to be quicker to reach from the foot of the hill, but it is located on a hill among steep hills and deep valleys. Although the church was not built in the 12th century, it is one of eight Catalan Romanesque Churches of the Vall de Boí that make up a UNESCO World Heritage site, and it is part of that group that were built in the 11th and 12th centuries.
