Torre de Los Casares: Secrets hidden beneath its towers

The Torre de Los Casares, a 9th-century Moorish defensive tower, sits on the top of a hill, thought to have once been the location of an ancient Arab settlement. This tower, with its entrance on the south-facing side, has two floors, each adorned with false vaults. Beneath it lies the Cueva de Los Casares, a cave that houses prehistoric paintings and engravings. Among the discoveries within the surrounding area are ceramics from the 11th century and Arab coins from Zaragoza’s mint.
