800 years of a fortified house near Spain's River Bullones

Casa fuerte de la Vega de Arias, a small fortified manor near Tierzo, Guadalajara, Spain, has a history that spans eight centuries. Built in the 12th century, it was expanded and fortified during the Señorío de Molina's peak in the 14th and 15th centuries. The southern wall and the external wall, completely walled, remain from its original construction. The entrance gate boasts a pointed arch crowned by a battlement. Through the years, this fortified house belonged to various terrifying families such as the Salinas, the Castejón de Andrade, and the Arauz de Robles. Today, it remains a private estate. Among its constructions, towers and buildings for defense were built during its expansion. José Luis García de Paz wrote about it in Castillos y fortificaciones de Guadalajara in 2007.
