Nestled in the Doubs department of France, Baume-les-Dames Abbey, also known as Sainte-Odile Abbey, carries a plethora of legends. Among the most accepted are its foundation by Saint Germain or Garnier, from Late Antiquity, though the Abbey was rebuilt in the 18th century. The Benedictine Abbey has been mentioned in historical texts such as La Vie de saint Ermenfroy and Anségise's testament. A notable discovery was Count Garnier's ancient remains in 1768. However, the most curious story revolves around King Guntram of Burgundy and a weasel leading to a hidden treasure, a regional tradition of old.
