The Last Laugh of Middletown's Malevolent Jester Nears Its End

Middletown may embrace an economical facelift - courtesy of the abandoned Circus grounds

A pact has been inked, paving the way for AAMHMT to manage a substantial plot: roughly 52 acres on Route 35. This land, the final resting place of the Evil Clown, stands tall with a supermarket, a Circus liquor store stocking Wine, Beers & Spirits, and the ominous, 22-foot Calico clown sign. For years, this sign has been a polarizing figure for travelers since the 1950s. AAMHMT's planning for this site envisions up to 450 homes. Among these, 68 are branded 'affordable', with 34 marked for moderate-income families, 25 for low-income families, and nine for the most budget-conscious residents. Middletown plans to amend its redevelopment blueprint to accommodate these residential units. AAMHMT must label these accommodations as 'affordable'.
