Each victim's memory framed in a heartfelt tribute - name, date, and a poignant trace

The 'Postcards', a symbolic moniker, pays homage to the 274 fellow Staten Islanders who tragically departed us, either on September 11, 2001 or amidst the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Gathered within, their memory resides in a series of personalized granite plaques, bedecked with names, birthdays, and places of employment on that fateful day. A trace remains as their eternal guide, gazing across the waters. The plaques form an intricate pattern, converging at their epicenter, all locking gaze at Ground Zero. The Postcards was born in 2004, thoughtfully crafted and funded by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, under the discerning gaze of Masayuki Sono, a New York-based architect. In 2018, this touching tribute received a long-overdue renovation, thanks to the efforts of James Oddo, the borough president.
