Ancient Mazarrón Sentry, Older Than the Town Itself: Santa Isabel Lookout

Santa Isabel watchtower, also known as Torre de Las Cumbres or Torre Vieja del Puerto, is an asset of cultural interest since 1986. Standing 12 meters tall on a promontory, the tronco-conic tower with a circular base has been restored since the 1990s as part of a larger initiative with the INEM. The tower is named after Queen Isabel, but it remains uncertain whether it references Queen Isabel I of Castile (reigned 1474-1504) or Queen Isabel Clara Eugenia (reigned during its restoration).
