The Chumbe Lighthouse (Swahili: Mnara wa Taa wa Chumbe) is a historic lighthouse located on Chumbe Island on Malindi ward of Mjini District in the Mjini Magharibi Region of Tanzania's Zanzibar Island.
Until 2013, the lighthouse burned acetylene to produce its light, a process that had been automated with the use of a sun valve since 1926. Today, the lighthouse uses a solar-powered photovoltaic system.
This historic building serves as a landmark in the Mjini Magharibi Region, providing a steady light for maritime navigation.
