The Royal Albert Hall, a concert hall in South Kensington, London, England, has a seating capacity of 5,272. It was originally intended to be called the Central Hall of Arts and Sciences, but its name was decided to be changed to the Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences during a meeting about the creation of Albertopolis in 1862. Since the hall's opening by Queen Victoria in 1871, it has hosted a variety of events, such as speeches, fights, and exhibitions. It is the venue for the BBC Proms concerts every summer since 1941.
