The Restored 15th-Century Chapel of Sant Gabriel de Veciana

Sant Gabriel, a temple in the municipal area of Veciana (Anoia), is listed in the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. Originated in the 15th century, the chapel was a church. Rectangular in shape, Sant Gabriel was covered with two slopes. The entrance to the chapel consisted of an arched door, and the exterior was previously plastered. Nearby, there was a small enclosed area demarcated by a stone wall.

After a heavy rain in 1969 caused the roof to collapse and a fire in 1980 damaged the interior, the ruins of Sant Gabriel are located near km 3.5 of the BV-1005 road, which branches off from Copons to Veciana. A path leads to Sant Gabriel, passing near cal Brunet and then leading to the Masia de Torrenova on the left. The track is acceptable until here, but a 4x4 is required afterward. The chapel was reopened on September 29, 2019, after many years of ruin, presided over by the Bishop of Vic.
